This time we start our journey with some classic and all time favorite tracks taking you into Soul, Jazz-Funk, Brazilian and Disco delights, all the way to Jamaica and some Reggae vibes. MUSIC IS BEST - Frank Zappa" About DJBrought up in Africa intoxicated with rhythm and sunshine:) Inspired by Fela Kuti, Ossibisa, Thomas Mapfumo, James Brown, DJ's Josh Makawa, John Matinde, and Kudzi Marudza. First records played from fathers collection of STAX, MOTOWN and Fantasy labels. In Yugoslavia got infected from Kim Band, September, Boban Petrovic, RTB Big Band, Lala Kovacev, Mica Markovic, Misha Blam, Vlatko Stefanovski, DJ's Sloba Konjovic and Rasha Petrovic. From 1982 - 1984 played in the first Yugoslav Funk Band CANNIBAL FRU FRU together with Fiki, Shkopi, Godja and Bojan Z (today the best jazz pianists in France and Chevalier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres). At the same time started DJ'ng in clubs like Luv and Zvezda, together with dear friend and funky brother Drasko Uzelac (rip), with whom earned pocket money breakdancin' on the pavements of Dubrovnik in the summer of 1984 ! From 1987 moved to London where witnessed the awakening of the "new Jazz era" in the clubs and the "pirate radio stations" daze in the mid/late 80's. Inspired by Roy Ayers, Don Blackman, Gil Scott Heron, Loose Ends, Eddie Harris, Incognito, and DJ's Paul Murphy, Patrick Forge, Gilles Peterson, Paul Guntrip (rip), Norman Jay, Paul "Trouble" Anderson, Dr.Bob Jones, Jez Nelson, Snowboy and clubs like the Wag Club, Electric Ballroom, Dingwalls, The Fez, Cask & Glass, Turnmills. Stateside fell in love with: Cameo, Slave, Kleeer, George Benson, E,W & F, Kool & the Gang,Jimi Hendrix, George Clinton, Talking Heads, Frank Zappa, Donald Byrd, Stanley Turrentine, Bill Evans, Joe Henderson, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Yusef Lateef, Art Blakey, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Leroy Hutson, Willie Hutch, Pharoah Sanders, Walter Bishop Jr. Family Lee, Max Roach, Norman Connors, Roy Haynes, Curtis Fuller, Cedar Walton, JJ Johnson, Lou Donaldson, Dexter Gordon, James M'Tume, Lee Morgan, Freddie Hubbard, Herbie Hancock, Jimmi Smith, Grant Green, Wayne Shorter, Nile Rodgers, Roger Troutman & Zapp, Al Hudson & One Way, Con Funk Shon, BT Express, D-Train, Zinc, Fatback Band, Instant Funk, Trouble Funk, Brass Construction, Mauro Malavasi & Jacques Fred Petrus, Michael Henderson, Eddie Jefferson, Mark Murphy, DJ's Tony Humphries, Vaughn Harper, Shep Pettibone, Larry Levan, Grandmaster Flash and also Marshall Jefferson, Kenny Dope, Louie Vega. From Brasil inhaled Gilberto Gill, Jorge Ben, Milton Nascimento, Joao & Astrud Gilberto, Banda Black Rio, Tamba trio, Zimba trio, Gal Costa, Joao Bosco, Sergio Mendes, Marcos Valle.... and from Cuba embraced Chano Poso, Mongo Santamaria, Jesus Chucho Valdes, Arturo Sandoval and from Jamaica Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Jackie Mitoo, Delroy Wilson, King Tuby, Gregory Isaacs... One the classical side adores J.S.Bach, L.V.Beethoven, V.A.Mozart, G.Mahler, F.Chopin, V.Horovitz....Back home, continued to search for the perfect beats, grooves & sounds, played in many clubs, radio stations and events. In 1992 together with Aki and Coba established LOUD MINORITYmovementin Belgrade, and in 1993 hosted the legendary JAZZ JOINT radio show on YU Radio. During the late '80s and early '90s laid foundations of cult clubs in Belgrade, such as Zvezda, Omen, No Name, MG and the one and only SOUL FOOD CAFFE together with Moma, Coba and mellow maddness DJ Aki. At the begining of the new millenium joined theCOSMIC SOUNDS family headed by a great friend and jazz enthusiast Zeljko Kerleta, for which label has recorded some music (check it out on Cosmic Sounds - London)... Deeply into Jazz, Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, R'n'B, Brazilian, Salsa, Descarga, Reggae, Dub, Classical and all MUSIC which comes straight from the HEART :) Fans of this Show
